Welcome Home to Cambria City!
Every Labor Day Weekend, our historic streets light up with a feeling that’s best described as a massive family reunion. Known to many as Johnstown’s Unofficial Homecoming, the Cambria City Ethnic Festival is the place where old friends reconnect, new traditions begin, and everyone is welcomed like family.
What started as a celebration of our heritage that followed the spirit of the 1989 Johnstown Flood Centennial American Heritage Ethnic Festival and the National Folk Festivals of the early ’90s has now grown into one of the region’s most cherished annual traditions. Today, our friendly 8-block neighborhood opens its arms to nearly 30,000 visitors each year, drawing guests from across the country and around the globe.
For three days, Cambria City transforms into a vibrant, multi-block celebration where history comes alive on every corner. Whether you’re returning to your roots or discovering us for the very first time, here is a taste of what awaits:
- Tastes of Heritage: Savor authentic, generation-spanning ethnic recipes served alongside classic festival treats and cold drinks.
- Music & Rhythm: Dance and sing along to continuous live performances across multiple stages, featuring everything from traditional cultural acts to regional fan-favorite bands.
- Living History: Take a peaceful stroll through stunning, historic church sanctuaries and explore the rich architectural beauty of our neighborhood.
No matter how far you’ve traveled to get here, when you’re in Cambria City, you’re home.
